The whirlwind of press among major music publications, tech sites, and everything in between celebrated the band’s innovative digital stunt – along with fans eager to find workarounds and attempt to “break” the app, driving even more chatter around the forthcoming single.

Impact
More post-release looks driven by the larger team followed—the Gigaton Visual Experience rolling out on Apple TV, the animated video for “Retrograde” featuring a cameo by activist Greta Thunberg—and even with the obvious global events fundamentally shifting the campaign’s strategy, the album performed well: #1 Rock, Top 5 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, and more critical acclaim than we can list here.
